Head of HSE

The opportunity to join a leading global contractor specializing in the construction of advanced data centers. As an experienced Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), you will lead on HSE activities for a significant substation project in Frankfurt (2 x 17.5 MW).

Position Overview:
The Head of HSE will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety standards for our upcoming data center project. You will lead a team of HSE professionals and collaborate closely with project management to foster a culture of safety and compliance throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage HSE policies and procedures specific to the data center project.
• Lead and mentor a team of HSE professionals (6+) to achieve high standards of safety and environmental management.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with the Project Director and Operations Director to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and execution.
• Monitor HSE performance metrics and report findings to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in HSE practices and culture across the project team.

Qualifications:

• Deep proficiency in EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) regulations and best practices.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in HSE management, preferably within data center construction projects.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team of HSE professionals.
• Fluent in English (project language) with a good understanding of German preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
