Diagnostic Expertise: Perform histopathological, cytological, and molecular analyses to diagnose diseases and conditions, including cancer, infections, and autoimmune disorders.
Collaboration: Work closely with clinicians, surgeons, and oncologists to provide diagnostic support and contribute to patient management, including multidisciplinary team discussions (MDTs).
Autopsy Services: Conduct post-mortem examinations when required, to determine causes of death and provide essential findings for clinical or forensic investigations.
Quality Control: Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards, participate in quality assurance programs, and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
Reporting: Prepare and interpret detailed pathology reports, ensuring timely communication of results to referring physicians and specialists.
Research and Education: Participate in academic and clinical research projects, mentor medical students and pathology residents, and contribute to continuous medical education.
Lab Management: Assist in overseeing laboratory staff, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to protocols and safety guidelines.
Medical Degree: MD or equivalent with specialization in Pathology.
Board Certification: Swiss Federal Diploma of Specialist in Pathology (or equivalent recognized by MEBEKO).
Experience: At least 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in clinical pathology, with expertise in general pathology (subspecialty experience is a plus).
Languages: Fluency in French is required, and proficiency in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of other Swiss national languages (German, Italian) is an advantage.
Skills: Strong diagnostic acumen, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration.
Licensure: Eligibility for medical licensure in Switzerland and compliance with Swiss regulations regarding medical practice.
