Freelance Quality & HSE Specialist

We are seeking an experienced freelance Quality and Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) Specialist for a 12-18 month project, with work primarily conducted remotely. This role is centered on delivering high standards in quality control and supporting our customer's understanding of quality processes within the gas industry—particularly with electronic and high-purity gases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Act as a trusted advisor to explain quality approaches and control plans, including the implementation of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) tools.
  • Process Development: Develop, sketch, and document quality processes across various fields, creating detailed process descriptions with step-by-step workflows.
  • Certification Support: Aid in the certification process for ISO 9001 standards, ensuring compliance and excellence in quality.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct safety audits, safety walks, and checklist monitoring at construction sites to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Field Expertise: Offer support on quality and safety matters in the semiconductor, medical/therapeutic, and gas filling plant fields, with a particular focus on gases with stringent purity requirements (e.g., chlorine, WF6, ammonia, HDL).

Required Expertise:

  • Quality Control & HSE Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of both quality and HSE standards, with a strong emphasis on Quality Assurance.
  • Gas Industry Expertise: Hands-on experience in the gas sector, especially with high-purity and electronic gases used in the semiconductor field.
  • Process Control Tools: Skilled in FMEA, control planning, and certification processes.
  • Safety in Construction: Experience in managing safety processes in construction or similar fields.
  • Customer & Partner Communication: Ability to clearly communicate quality processes and standards to customers and partners.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Technical Background: Ideally 8+ years in a relevant field, with expertise in gas quality for semiconductor or medical applications.
  • Academic Foundation: An engineering degree or technical qualification is required.
  • Experience with High-Purity Gases: Background in producing or handling gases with ultra-low impurity levels (min 4.0 grade).
  • Process & Safety Certification Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other relevant certifications.
  • Language: German and English fluent (mandatory).
